So I just purchased a bare pair of RHS heads to install my BTR and Manly valvetrain on. On my inspection, I noticed that inside the combustion chambers around the valve guides their was a lot of sharp edges from where they were drilled to install the guides. I'm sure that these sharp edges can cause possible detonation? I can remove those sharp areas, but then I wouldn't be able to return them. So before I do anything I would like to ask what you guys think of these RHS Pro Action LS3 heads.
I haven't seen any of these heads in person, but RHS has a VERY good name and reputation. Their business started as a high performance head shop, hence the name RHS (Racing Head Service). Perhaps you could send a few pics in an email, or txt, to RHS customer service, and maybe they'd offer to finish them up the way they should have been. I'm assuming these are new heads. If not, obviously they'll do nothing. If it were me, I'd take a very small hand file, or a Dremel type tool with a felt type polishing/deburring wheel to the sharp edges, and be done with them.......
