Let's keep in touch, I'll be replacing my clutch in about 2 weeks.
Do a search in the CF archives, slow search look into the text, for "clutch replacement" or "replacing clutch". I found several items and "gottcha" warrnings there.
If you try to do that job on jack stands you better have at least three people with you. The rear carrier/tranny and torque tube is quite awkward as a unit. You have to be very careful with the installation as it is very easy to damage the pilot bearing. If this gets damaged you could experience shifting problems. For the $300-400 that it cost it may be worth having someone else do it or find someone with a lift. I'm not saying it's impossible but a real bitch on your back! If you have any other questions you can drop me a E-mail as I have done quite a few.
I have read up on most of the common mistakes. The lazy pedal problem is the only thing I saw with no difinative answer.
9D9,
Yeah, I have a few extra backs I can break. As far as having it installed, I enjoy the work too much to pay someone. Masochistic I guess.
Is it possible to install the tube/trans/diff separately? That does look like an awkward assy to align.
How about the slave PN? I have seen the '02 listed as 12562767 and 15046288.
Thanks
Oh yeah, I found a shop to surface the flywheel and balance with the clutch. They also offered to lighten the flywheel by a couple of lbs. Anyone tried this?
