I have a trunk mounted CD cassette problem. First time I have tried to use it and it seems like a CD that was playing does not want to eject back into the cassette tray, and now nothing plays and there is an ERR message. Ideas???

Is this the Head unit CD or the Trunk multi CD changer? If it is the trunk changer, sometimes lightly tapping the outside will jar it enough to get the changer to eject into the tray.
Truthfully the unit is not mounted in the ideal orientation “vertical” but that is just the beginning. This may or may not work but give it a try. It works for me. Keep the door closed and then take your closed fist and give the unit a firm hammer with the base of your hand. It may take a couple hits. You will hear the CDs moving. Open the door. It should eject now. If not, try it with the door open. It’s tricky but usually works. I ave put 3 different units in mine and all have similar issues. Good luck 👍.

Its an individual CD that seems to be stuck in the player. The cassette box comes out ok.
I don't know of any other way than going in and grabbing the offending CD and pulling it out by the scruff of it's neck. Try not to break anything. Don't use tools or sharp objects, just fingers. Bring band aids. You'll need'em. May need a new CD player when you're done.
I have used double faced tape and tape it to a thin piece of wood (tongue depresser) and slide it through the slot and it will grab the cd and you can pull it out.

Not trying to be a smart ***, but using cassette in combo with CD can be confusing. I've always called the CD holder the 'tray', or 'magazine'. But maybe I'm in the minority. I'll confess, I don't know what the proper terminology is. I've never had any of these problems. I'm wondering if the problems arise from not using the player often enough?

This is the first time tried to use it.
I kinda like the firearm term "magazine" and apparently that's what GM calls them....
