Because it's an OEM part and OEM parts are usually expensive. Get yourself some Moogs and call it a day. Beefier than OEM, greasable, and 1/5 of that price.
Thanks. But normally gm parts aren’t that expensive. The rear tie rods are $70 which makes sense. Not sure why these fronts are so expensive.
You realize that "GM parts" aren't made by GM, right?? They're made by a contractor to GM, then sent through several levels of the GM parts chain, with each step adding a "mark-up" to the price. That's why they're $200. As suggested, simply but the Moog parts, as they're high quality and less money. (no "Corvette tax")
Gm parts aren’t typically much more than aftermarket quality parts. However, gm parts most definitely go through several r&d stages and quality control stages. And that is they they charge more. And that’s why I’ll pay more. Part for part, I’ve had more problems with aftermarket than oe. I’ll be happy to pay more for a quality part and quality fitment.
I can agree on some of your post. But Moog has been around forever. Their ball joints/tie rod end replacement parts are as good as anyone's, including GM.

I'm thinking that Moog is quite possibly GM's supplier....
