Default What converter do I need?

Hi im contemplating doing a cam +3.42+tc install for now on my stock 98 a4 with a varaam and hayden 679 tranny cooler. Im planning on swapping in the gm "hotcam" for its lopiness as well as ability to be tuned to pass CA smog (correct me if im wrong) but I wanted to know what type of torque converter I would need as I wont be doing too much tracking mostly street driving however when I get on it I want that punch in the gut feeling i got when I first started driving the car. Ive been looking at b&m converters lmk if there any good or not. Thanks!

Look into Yank converters. Lingenfelter uses them, so they're good enough for me, too. I've had a Yank, a 3,200 stall, for 16 years now. No issues. Not cheap. Top notch equipment usually isn't. I believe Yank is probably the most popular converter on the forum, but don't know for sure. I'd recommend a 2,500-2,800 stall. Tell Yank what you're doing, or tell whatever brand you go with what your combo is, and intended usage. The cam, and rear end gear you pick will probably best determine what converter you'll need. Good luck......

I did some research and went decided to go with a circle D 3000 stall. Yank was my next choice so either you should be okay. Quality usually costs a little more, but gives less headaches.
