Default Chain Dampner
Building an LS1 for a 99 FRC I see some people saying the motor came with a chain dampners, others saying no.... I dont have bolt provisions... should I have a dampner in there from the factory?

No dampener from the factory, no bolts for it either I don’t believe. You’d need to drill and tap

Correct, no provisions, I saw one that bolts to the cam retaining cover.... but not one with this motor

Dont have to drill and tap there is a bolt on solution just as you mentioned.
