My mom and i just ordered the quad tip stingers and a blackwing intake for my dads 99 convertible. i know the blackwing shouldnt be to hard to install but i my dad wants to try and install the exhaust ourself. I didnt think it would be too hard, how many of u guys installed ur own exhaust and what special tools did u need, oh and by the way its an a4
I think your biggest problem will be getting the car up high enough to get the stock exhaust (mufflers) out. Without a lift, you may have to cut the pipes to get them off. Other than that, it should be relatively easy and require tools you probably have. Hope it works well and that you all have a great Holiday season! :smash: :)
How do u recomend lifting the back end up safely my dad just informed me he wants to keep the stock system incase the stingers are too loud for him, which i really doubt.
stingers are loud IMO. The only safe way to do it on a lift. You may be able to get a jack under the rear cross member to lift the back high enough to get some jack stands under there. But a lift would save you alot of head aches.
