My Plug Wire Keeps Popping Off....!!
The first spark plug wire on the drivers side, near the altenator, keeps popping off ever since I installed my headers. I know the headers don't have anything to do with it, but that was the first time I removed any of the wires. Anyway, a day or so after the header install, my car is running crappy and missing. I check the plug wires, sure enough that plug wire is not "all" the way on. So I snap it in place and go about my business. Well today I'm driving to work (about 1.5 weeks after the 1st incident) and my car starts running crappy. Check that plug wire, sure enough it's just barely on there :mad .
So anyone know what the deal is? Is it time for some new wires? These are the stock wires, with about 28k miles on my car. With my luck, I'll be racing someone and the damn wire will come loose and I'll lose :cuss

Sounds like the "spring" metal inside the boot has lost it's ability to grab the plug end.....time for a new wire. :yesnod:

Thanks for the tip, I'll go give that a try. I really didn't want to spend any money on the vette this month, I need to buy other people stuff for once....lol

Check that the plug is tight or maybe cracked and leaking if that isn't it

Well, it runs fine when the plug wire is on all the way, so that led me to believe nothing is wrong with the plug. But as a precaution, I'll go out and remove that plug real quick and check it out. I'm also going to get out the ol' pliers and see if I can't fix that plug wire. Christmas is just too close to buy my self stuff.

I've had one of my MSD wires come loose before. Magnecor wires are angled wires? Sounds like Magnecor wires are made for engines with headers.
I will considers those after I've burnt up all my spare (after you burn 1 you get a second set for spares) MSD wires.
