C5 Under dash repair/replace recommendations
Quote for A/C was $1400 to replace the Actuator on the drivers side. Part was to be $250 for 1. Rest was to be for labor. Then when speaking with them, they recommended replacing all "4" actuators (I have yet to find 4 documented anywhere). After coming to this forum, found that I could get the actuator elsewhere for less and had plenty of recommendations (THANK YOU Corvette Forum). Then I looked and found that there are 2 actuators, 1 per side, so I ordered both and now have them.
For the HUD fix. I know that the issue is the broken pin (again, thanks to CF) since I can look through the windshield and see it on. Just that the mirror is down. Dealer quoted $1900 to fix. When I told them that the part to repair was $20, they said that they don't repair and that the quote is to replace with used unit only. Ordered $20 part and will follow the excellent instructions provided in this forum on how to fix it myself.
Now the real question I have is, since I will have the dash out, what else should I replace while at that stage so that I am ready for another 20 years of the awesome car?
Thank you all for great insight. I have been looking through the forum and unable to find anything to answer this question.
Replaces the side piece with PIN and adds the bushing on the other side.

nice. looks like somebody is 3d printing them. Wish I had known about that 3 or 4 months ago when I took mine out to fix it.
