A&A Corvettes installs headers! [pics]

2Kvetteman, C5Chris, and I got there around 9:00am. They were having frame savers and rocker rails installed and Andy put in the RK Sport long tube headers and a 160 stat and controller in my coupe.
When I got there, Andy had his red Z and carrerarod's 2002 black coupe in the garage. Both cars were wheeled out and he drove mine in and onto the lift. Things started out on a good note, because as **** as I am with the car, Andy saw fit to put a towel on the floor before driving it. This might be a ****ling issue, but it's that very attention to detail that highlighted his work.
He immediately wrapped the front end of the car in a Breathless Performance apron that went all around the front quarter panels and dove right in, unplugging wires, removing bolts, plugs, and exhaust manifolds. Keep in mind that I had driven one and a half hours to get there and that less than an hour before, the car was doing some pretty impressive speeds. Needless to say, there were some toasty parts down there!
It's been a long day, so to make a long story short, he cut the precats off, welded flanges to the cats, assembled everything back together, installed the stat and controller, and 5 hours later I was taking it out for a test run. The instructions estimate the headers alone to be a 7 hour job! BTW, for anyone taking their car to A&A, no hotrodding on Palma Drive!
I immediately noticed an improvement in throttle response and a definite kick in the butt right around 4500 RPM. Not sure what the improvement is in RWHP, but it's not 15! The car really moves! Revs seem to come faster and the sound...HOLY SHIAT!!! I thought the Indy's were nice by themselves, but the headers really highlight the engine!
Again, from begining to end, Andy showed a real attention to detail. I was impressed. More than that, with as much obvious knowledge of the car as he has (Lord knows he's been around vettes!) he's one of the guys and not some primadonna hotshot sitting up on a throne. Those of you that have called him know this. Those of you that don't, should see what I'm talking about and give him a shout.
Pics of the framesaver install on 2Kvetteman's car will be posted later.
Here're the pics of the RKS:
Thanks again for a great job!

Andy definitely is the go-to guy in California!
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I was there and I agree with all that Alex had said. Andy is THE MAN to talk to if you are talking about FAST CORVETTES. I am no cheerleader or an affliliate of his, Im just a happy customer. After being in his shop the whole day yesterday and watching him work, I can say that it's this guys passion to work on Corvettes and make them faster. He really enjoys his work and it shows in the quality. Alex's (FNC80) RKSport header install was topnotch, Andy took his time to make sure that he would have a satisfied customer. And that's what Alex is. We could hear his car 3 blocks away. Andy was just shaking his head, he just made a monster - (well a little monster, the real monsters are blown c5s he has in front of his shop). NO SPEEDING ON PALMA DRIVE, but I can tell ya it would be hard to resist if I had a faster c5 coming out from his shop.
I had my framesavers/rocker rails done and I give his products and install a high thumbs up.
Thanks Andy and you will see me back in your shop in no time.

...this wouldn't have anything to do with the CHP station on Palma Dr. would it??? :D :nono: :nono: :nono:
I think Andy needs to do some complimentary S/C installs on a few of the CHP cruisers....
Just to reinforce it, NO SPEEDING on Palma street  when you come out of Andy shop. Cause you all now we never speed after MODS :yesnod: :D  .
