@%$*^!XX CD Changer!
So the trunk mount changer never worked since Ive had my 2001 base.... a day ago while I was vacuuming the hatch area, I said, what the heck, let me try it again.... nothing... until I smacked fairly hard with my hand, then all kinds of whirling...buzzing....clicking.... and magic! Music from speakers from the CD.... Well now the next day my battery is dead... meter says 1 volt....
I'm guessing the changer is not turning off internally when the key is out and killed my battery.... I unplugged the power cord from the rear of the changer and charging the battery.... I hope it comes back and that was the draw... Think Im going to stick with my FM transmitter and my phone....
