Hey Guys I'm Hoping That Someone Can Help Me Out With This Issue I'm Having. I'm Building A 72 Malibu/Chevelle & I'm Putting Corvette C5 Brakes All Around. The Manufacture Of The Particular Wheel I Am Interested In Purchasing Sent Me These Two Diagrams For Me To Fill Out & Send Back So They Can Cut The Wheels To Size. The Problem Is I Have No Idea How To Get The Correct Measurements. Does Anyone Know The Correct Measurements They're Asking For The Stock C5 Calipers?
Are you using a complete C5 brake package, including spindles and rotors? If not, then the dimensions from a C5 won't tell you, or you wheel maker, what you need to know. Do you have the brakes mocked up or mounted on the spindles yet? That's going to be necessary to make the measurements, calculating the dimensions from loose parts might not be close enough.
Interesting the wheel supplier's sketch is for a front wheel drive car -- you might want to ask if he wants you to reverse the sketches for rear wheel drive.
That won't be the only measurements you need for a custom wheel. Those will get you the clearance for the brakes and hub. What about your fender clearance?
1) Yes, I'm Using A Complete C5 Package (Spindles, Calipers, Rotors & Lines)
2) The Complete Brake Assembly Set Up Is On The Car Mounted.
3) As Far As The Sketch, Its A General Diagram To Let Me Know What Exactly On The Calipers Need To Be Measured In Order For The Wheel Clearance.
