Default New battery , car won't start!

I got help with the bezel so I'll remove that part. More importantly this>>>I replaced the ignition switch and checked some fuses bc c5 wouldn't start or crank. I found the bcm fuse was broken on the inside of the plastic (not blown but the metal piece along the inside of the fuse, it still showed as good looking at it and checking with a voltmeter, I figured it out by crap-house luck) replaced that fuse and the car started right up, however, since I replaced the ignition switch, when I start the car, not every time but most of the time, the headlights go on without even turning on the switch, they turn off before too long at some point when they feel like it and the blinkers are hyper flashing. They weren't doing that before. Wth did I do???? Could I have done something wrong putting in the new ignition switch to cause all of that??? Now a month or so later the battery had a dead cell so got a new one put it in and again the car won't start. Turn the key on everything comes on like normal but no sound, no crank, no start. I am so over this stuff. I am beginning to feel quite bewildered by it all. Can someone shed some light on this for me??? It's a 2002 c5 convertible.
Thank you!

P.S. Also, AAA came to jump me over a year ago and the guy put the pos clamp on the neg terminal when he was jumping my car. I had to get out of the car and tell him what he had done because I saw sparks and what looked like smoke and he was standing there touching the other one to stuff trying to find a ground looking perplexed. When I got in the car to go get the new battery, my radio wouldn't work(replaced the fuse, did the trick) and my blower motor wouldn't work and still doesn't. Could I be having all these other problems I'm having now because of what he did and something set it off this long after? I wanted to wring his neck that night! I just can't figure out why this car has gone haywire lately! I can't afford to take it to chevy and just tell them to just run with it. I mean I don't even have a firstborn I could give them! I'd like to come out of this nightmare with SOME hair left on my head. And this is my only car so it sucks even more! Thanks again.

Is this a continuation of your other thread ??...you should have just kept the previous one going !!...it makes it confusing responding to 2 posts now !!..,and yes, hooking up the jump cable backwards may cause big issues.. especially when you see smoke !!..,don’t know what to tell you now with this info !!
