Default ECP Radiator Questions

Does anyone know if you can use the SPAL fans with the ECP radiator? Is there any real benefit over the factory fans? And what are yalls experience with the ECP versus the DeWitts?

I personally have ECP radiator and have had no issues. I had to slightly modify brackets for the fans and the condenser but with aftermarket there is always slight tweaks. I have SPAL fans and there is a considerable difference in cooling. I have a 402 stroker with A&A kit and have no issues cooling it. My 2 buddies also have ECP radiators and have had no issues. It seems like it was hit and miss for some using that radiator.

I have both an ECP radiator and a single 16" SPAL fan. Removed the stock radiator shrouding to increase cooling further at speed. Working perfectly, no issues.

Forced induction is exactly what im preparing for, either A&A kit or huron speed twin turbo kit. Havent decided yet. Did you have any fitment issues with the radiator and fans with your intercooler or head unit? I know DeWitts sales a version of their SPAL fans with a modified shroud to clear for the supercharger head unit. Was wondering if that was necessary. What fan version did you go with and did you have any issues mounting them to the ECP radiator or have to do anything special with wiring?

I went to your blog, you have done alot of cool stuff to your car. Some of the same things I'm looking at doing. I have a couple of questions. What did you do with your radio harness to get that tablet to work and bypass the boss amps and harness to run the new 6.5" speakers?

Also, what parts did you use and how much did you spend for your oil cooler setup?

I actually just bought the individual SPAL fans and mounted them on an OE shroud. I added some small square wholes and put the rubber flaps on to allow flow while moving. They suck closed when fans are on. I just cut off original fan casing. I will find some pics. I had no fitment issues. The short version radiator and fans are only necessary if you want to raise the cradle back up or leave it down and run a bigger 4" intake tube to blower.

The speaker wiring in the Corvette has a differential setup, so the wiring can't be reused. I routed new wiring from the amplifier to the doors (very easy access). The tablet is connected to the amplifier through bluetooth (a wired connection will require a ground loop isolator).
I was brave enough to purchase an e-bay oil cooler setup for the LS-engine. The adapter is simply a lump of machined aluminium, so not much that can go wrong there. I preferred not to have a thermostat, as this add a restriction to the circuit, with a possible drop in oil pressure. I'm using AN10 lines, and have zero oil pressure drop after adding the oil cooler. I was far more skeptical to the oil cooler lines and the oil cooler itself, but it has survived two track days without issues. I thoroughly circulated brake cleaner through it, to remove any metal particles from the production (aluminium is soft, so not that worried).

So did you connect the tablet to the factory radio harness at all? Like would be done with a regular double din unit? If not, how are you getting power to it?

Nope, I've removed both the head unit, the Bose sound processor and the door amplifiers. The tablet is powered through a 12V USB charger, that I connected to the AUX power wire in the passenger foot well.
