C5 shift problem
My 04 suddenly has no connection between shifter and transmission. I’ve been waiting for 4 hours for a tow company through AAA. Has anyone else had this shift issue and, if so, suggestions? It’s automatic.

A broken shifter cable is very common on autos.
You can buy new bushings for the cable Dorman 14057 is the part # IIRC

I also bought a spare cable incase GM discontinues making the cable.

Happened to my C5 the day after I bought it, fortunately in my driveway. The bushing joining the shifter with the cable rotted out. I replaced it myself with a Dorman bushing kit - $17.
