I start car gauge goes to full then immediately drops to empty, but I have full tank. Anyone know where to start?
start with Chevron Techron...several doses may clear up the sulfur deposit on the sending unit cards in the tanks...many members have had success doing this...

I'm one who's had success with Techron. Shell Premium supposedly has it blended in. It took me over 1,200 miles of a bottle in every fill up before it was working right. Don't give up too soon....
Techron worked for me too. Double dose in full tank and let it sit all winter. Now use a bottle every other tankful, and only fill the tank to 1/4 for winter storage.

Techron is great stuff. I have some in my tank right now. It may take a few bottles to fully solve your issue. Be patient. Also as a side note, you can have too much of a good thing. Per the makers of Techron, you should not use more than 5 bottles between oil changes. Doing so can damage the inside of your gas tank.
Techron is magic. On the first sign of a problem a 20 ounce bottle in my 3/4 tank fixed it in 3 miles. A few years later it took several heavy doses and over a week. I now use it every six months plus during storage

this is funny. u know most guys around here change their oil between 2k and 3k.
"APPLICATIONS Techron® Concentrate Plus, Complete Fuel System Cleaner, is designed for gasoline carbureted or fuel injected spark ignition engines. To keep the entire fuel system clean, use Techron Concentrate Plus, Complete Fuel System Cleaner, every 3,000 miles (4,800 km) or at scheduled oil change intervals, not to exceed twice per oil change"
Good info find ericba...
Wow...i would not have believed it if i didn't see it with my own eyes...
But they do not tell you what could happen if you do use too much ??? Ack

what does changing oil got to do with the fuel tank? Mine seems to go bonkers at 3/4. I just plug in a scanner, clear the no codes and go on about my business. been using the complete fuel system in the tank, and still waiting for the magic.
what yr how many miles??
Here's what happens when u put 6 can between oil changes.
I don't think I used 6, but I used at least 3, and probably 4!! But that's what it took to fix it, so.....Anyway, even with a good sending unit, it seems like the last 1/4 tank of gas in a C5 (and some other cars) drops faster than an 18 year old guys drawers after his parents leave, and his girlfriend arrives!! Amazing that a year ago 2 bottles of Techron cost as much as a half tank of gas, and now the cost of 2 bottles wong even buy a 1/4 tank, by Joe!!

if you need to change the sending unit you can DIY in the garage just make sure you order a new seal and run the car low on gas so you don't make a big mess.....takes about an hour or so
