I am getting ready to install a new head unit, new component speakers in the doors and 5 1/4 in the rear. Wiring them to a 4 channel amp. Obviously I'm removing all the bose equipment. I know to run RCA cables from the unit to the amp and the speaker wire from the amp to the speakers. My confusion in on what do use for the harness that connects the head unit to the cars harness for power. Some have told me to use the same axxess harness you would use to keep the bose but just don't use the wires that would go to the bose amps. Can someone tell me what I need to do this? Or point me to a thread that is already out there on it? Thanks in advance.
You can use a harness for the power but all you really need is a switched +
You can find it on the AC control.
It's easy to get to and pinch in.
I think it's an orange or yellow wire.

So the car had a single din head unit installed when I got it. I haven't taken it out to see, but I know it still has the stock bose speakers so I'm assuming they used either the axxess or the pac harness. Could i reuse it if I cut out the wires going to the bose interface?

Sure but you can just unhook and abandon the bose speakers and use the RCAs from the aftermarket head unit.
Yes you can use it just for power.
Cut the bose wires if you want to but
You don't have to cut the bose wires since as I understand you're wanting to run an aftermarket stereo which has rca outputs.
You have to run new wires to the speakers and not use the bose wiring if you're going with new amplifiers
Here I ran some 18 gauge speaker wire
