I have a 97 standard model. None of the DIC buttons work. I have messages that appear on the dash, door open,cruise on/off, traction control on/off etc.
i did replace the switch assembly on the cluster and still nothing. Is there a way to diagnose the switches? Where does the wiring go? Another bcm, ecm some other control unit?
i am a bit lost, and it just drives me batshit crazy
The DIC switches when pressed have a little spring feel to them when released. When the buttons do not have that spring feel to them they stick closed and the chip behind the dash frys
the wires from the buttons are wired into the back of the speedometer. there is no repairing the cludster after the switches become un responsive. you will have to replace the cluster
