I have a 2000 model that will not start from the key, when I turn the key to start everything goes dead. I have already did the following: replace the battery, starter, ignition switch, theft deterrent relay and lastly installed the LMC5 steering column lock module bypass.
I can start the car by jumping the purple and red wires on the theft deterrent relay.
OK, so you have power to both the power and control side feed…what about the ground for the control side which is the BCM which grounds the control side…let just check for a broken wire on the control side ground…remove the TDR relay and remove the C3 connector on the BCM which is the bottom connector…see if you have continuity between A1 (yellow/black) and pin B7 of the BCM…if you show continuity the wire is OK…if not the BCM may not be grounding the circuit !!..you may have some other issue !!

thank you for this great idea to check, I did check the wire this morning and it is good. I have continuity between the yellow/black wire from the C3 connector to the TDR. Thanks again for the images you sent and your time helping me so far troubleshoot this problem
Do you think my body control module is bad? I have the following code showing B 2723 HC
We should have first asked if your security light goes out after turning the key on...does it ??...also we should have had you check for any codes...with the B2723 code we have to concentrate on the VATS now...not the TDR...so if you replaced the ignition switch did you use the old lock cylinder ??...it could be a worn key pellet not making contact or a bad lock cylinder...try cleaning the key pellet with some alcohol...do you have another key ??...if you take your voltmeter and backprobe (use a needle or thin safety pin) the white/black wire at the middle BCM connector...pin is #A# and with key out of the ignition you should see 5 volts...when you put the key in the voltage should drop. watch the video !!...a VATS bypass can also be done.

I have tried another key and cleaned both keys with alcohol. I also have cleaned inside the lock cylinder with CRC electrical parts cleaner. When I replaced the electrical ignition switch I used my original lock cylinder.
If I buy a new lock cylinder will it have to be programmed for my key?

The only time reprogramming or what we call a relearn procedure has to be performed is if you get a key with a different resistor chip resistance then your present key.

I appreciate all the posts to help, I found the problem one wire broke on the ignition lock cylinder
