DIY tutorial on installing differential and transmission
Does anybody have or know of a good one either video or written photos. I should be getting my differential back from RPM this week and would like to do it myself. I have access to lifts and tools just don’t want to miss something important. The car currently has the torque tube and clutch in place.
Stab the trans first, then stab the diff to the trans. Much easier that way then trying to stab it as one piece. The trans you can stab with the torque tube basically in its normal position, then you can use the weight of the trans to tilt everything down into place to give you room to stab the rear diff... If you try to stab the trans and diff as a unit, you have to man handle the torque tube down at the right angle to get it all stabbed on.
Make sure to keep track of where your wiring bundle is going as you put things back into place and re-secure it. First time I put my car back together I think I had the wiring bundle running down the wrong side of the top of the trans and when I stabbed the rear end I realized it. It runs down the passenger side, not the drivers side.

Thanks for the tips! I was wondering about that and probably would have stuck them together first, so good to know. A race shop at the track took it out, so I didn't get to see how it all goes back. They put the cradle back up so it could roll so I'll just have to remove that and the tunnel plate and it should be ready to put back
