I'm having an issue with my 1998 and I'm hoping someone can help me out. My engine was built by Tick Performance a few years ago and dyno tuned without the mass airflow sensor. It is a build LS1 with trick flow heads and a large cam with a FAST 92mm intake and LS2 throttle body. I'm getting the following codes almost every other day. P1516, P1514, P1220, P1120 and P0103. The car has Kook's long tube headers and Billy Boat bullets. The previous owner had gutted the cats but the smell from the exhaust was horrible so I had cats welded back in. Could this have changed the parameters enough to screw up the tune and give me these codes (it goes into limp mode every time this happens but I can clear the codes and it will run like a top for a while until it repeats the same codes again)? I cleaned the throttle body (silver blade GM) and replaced the Casper's adapter with a new one just in case this was the problem but it is still happening.
Any thoughts on if the cats could be causing this or possibly something else?
I know that these LS2 throttle bodies sometimes cause issues and it's in the wiring so you'll have to look at that...the P0103 is a MAF DTC so don't worry about that one !!

Update: I haven't found any wiring issues but I have noticed this only happens in the morning and never in the afternoon. I'm going to remove the converters this coming weekend and I'll update if this could be the problem. Not sure if air density could make that big a difference with the tune and added converters but I figure it is worth a try before I buy a new $400 throttle body.
Could be the electronics in the throttle body are giving up. You could always rewire the adapter and get a gold blade then you can buy any off the shelf gold blade and get a warranty. It just requires a small adjustment in the tune. Could also be a loose connector.
I'll definitely consider this. Not sure there is anyone here to tune in my local area is the only down side. I've been dealing with this for several months now and it only happens in the morning. It did it this morning and I'll go home this afternoon and it will fire right up without the reduced engine power. I just can't understand why it is ONLY in the morning...
