usually veteran members don't do this. but i can be wrong. back in high school i used trans fluid worked great never had an issue. it sure put a shine on the car i don't remember if i had wd but if i did i probably would of tried it.

Years ago, a couple showed up late to a car show because of a traffic problem, with very little time to make the car shine, they used WD40 and it looked good for the judging but later turned dull due to oxidation. it worked for about 2 hours as I recall.
