so I just picked up a 99 convertible and the stock wheels leave lots to be desired lol. Really want to replace them with stock size 17x8.5 +58 offset fronts and 18x9.5 +85 offset rears so that i can retain the stock tire size....what are most doing for this.....ty in advance

Also have a 1999 C5 convertible that came with wagon wheels, had car over 18 years now.

September 2009 I found someone selling chrome wagon wheels on Craigslist with almost new Michelin pilot sport zero pressure tires, asking $600.00 but I offered $500.00 and he said yes.

The guy selling them put C5 Z06 wheels or replica wheels on his 1997-1999 Corvette, and put on Z06 rear brake cooling inserts on car to make it look like a Z06.

The chrome wagon wheels really made the car look better, at the time I thought they were chromed by the factory, but people here said that was not an option on 1997-1999 C5, so must have been chromed by some aftermarket company.

The center caps that cover lug nuts are plastic, on stock grey, and the chrome ones that come with chrome wheels.

You could look for chrome wagon wheels for sale, or there are some companies that will sell you chromed wheels and you send in your original wheels as cores to be chromed and resold.

At the time I was wanting new wheels and tires, some Corvette place asked me why I didn't buy C6 Z06 2009 replica wheels to make my car look like a 2009 Z06, I decided to stick with the original style but chrome version so as years go by it always looks period correct.

If you meant different aftermarket wheels altogether, then there are so many choices to look at.

 

Summer 2019 after having new Firestone Indy 500 tires put on and first ever wheel alignment, this is how the alignment guy parked my car at the shop and the person inside said your Corvette is ready.

 

If you don’t mind stepping up to 18 all around C6 Z06 reproduction rims are very affordable and look great on a C5.
