Tuesday night, I heard a strange pop (that seemed to come from under the car) when coming to a stop at a light. It only happened once, and the car seemed to still be running just fine. This has never happened before. When I got home and pulled the car into my garage. I noticed that a bird had pooped on my hood. As such, I backed the car out of the garage to rinse it off. When I did, I noticed that I had a small pool of oil on the floor. After rinsing off the car, I pulled it back into the garage. I could not find where the oil dripped from. However, I did notice that the entire bottom of my oil pan seems covered in oil. Also, there was oil around my front leaf spring. I checked the oil yesterday, and it is not at all low. However, there is obviously a leak. Since some of the oil was on the spring, I also checked my power steering fluid to make sure that it wasn't actually power steering fluid leaking from the rack. I don't believe this is the case. I also did my best to look all around the supercharger to make sure that wasn't the source. I don't think the problem was from the rack or the supercharger. I got the best pics I could without really getting the car in the air. Let me know what you guys think. I'm probably going to be calling my repair shop later today.
That's some clean oil. Check ur front seal and ur crank danpner
It could be the front seal. The harmonic balancer was pinned as part of the supercharger install, so I certainly hope that isn't the issue. I have an appointment with my mechanic in 2 weeks. I guess the car will stay in the garage until then. At least it's still running well.

That 'stuff' looks to be the same color as the PAG oil/dye I used in my A/C system to find a leak (it worked, too!). Could it be the 'pop' you heard was an A/C seal, or the rubber part of the A/C line popping? Does A/C still work? Maybe A/C compressor let go and it's PAG oil? Do you have a 'blacklight' flashlight? Hard to believe a 'pop' that loud was a bird pooping on your hood, especially since you said it sounded like it came from underneath the car. Just curious. Very coincidental if the 'pop' had nothing to do with it!! Best of luck MWW!

It didn't even occur to me that it could be PAG oil. I think I used to have a black light, but I don't think I have it anymore. I agree that the pop wasn't the bird pooping.
MWW, have you figured out what it was yet? I'm thinking the popping had something to do with it. But it could've been an acorn or something that you ran over, too. Have you tried your A/C yet? If it worked before, and it doesn't now, I think you've probably found the problem......
I don't know if you tried this but clean the whole area and put a big enough cardboard under the car and let run. With the air on Like grinder said and it should show its ugly face.

You're right, Helga. Chasing A/C problems can get pricey in a hurry, and put on a really ugly face!! Even if you do it yourself. Like if it was a line, and you need a new one, with the crimped rubber section. I don't know if that's what Warlord's problem is, but that gunk on the oil pan is mighty close to that lower A/C line. It's also exactly the same color as my leak detecting dye. Love to run a blacklight over it for the heck of it. I just bought mine at Harbor Freight for $7 or $8. Looked like being back in 1975 at a Spencer's store at the mall!!!

yup im almost certain you right I think this happen to someone on here that thought they where a mechanic.
My Ac runs fine. After having it sit unmoved in the garage, I can say that the leak is coming from somewhere above the front leaf spring. I have a small puddle of what certainly appears to be motor oil that has collected on the floor below that spot. I'l find out for sure what it is on Monday though. Thank you for the input from everyone. I'll let you know what it turns out to be.
Stingroo may have it figured. Anything that 'pops' must be under pressure. If it's not the A/C, as the A/C still works, the only other 2 things under the hood with operating pressure are the power steering and power brakes.......
He said in the OP that he checked the level. I missed that. Hmm.... although sometimes those leaks can be slow and make a TON of mess because of the pressure.
And it's not Ps fluid there at the front left of the car? Doesn't look it, but thought I'd ask.
Sometimes hard to see with leaf spring in the way, but if you have a good light you could check the under side of the front of the pan to get an idea of where it is coming from.
My only leak experience has been the front seal on my 99 which I replaced in May when I did the balancer. Dry as a bone now.
