GM CNC Ported Heads. Your comments Please

Some specs:

CNC Ported
.550 lift
Light Weight Valves & Upgraded Springs
I decided Im not racing every weekend (Just out to have fun & show off) so $162500.00 per Head and Stanless Steel Valves, Titanium Retainers, and Bronze Guides is over kill for my application. I dont know what Cam I should use yet. But I will take your advice.

Great deal none the less! Only thing is they are said to be milled .060 already, do your compression ratio may be higher than you want for the street.
These heads were designed for a certain class racing application. They could use race gas and high compression is no problem then.

I was looking at this cr as to high for street use. If you plan on traveling with your car octane ratings could be a problem. Tuning out timing dosen,t sound like a good soution to compensate. I will be passing on them. I am considering new stock z06 heads
($732 ea.), replace the springs, some minor cleanup work and a good street cam 271-277 Adv. Dur. | 218-224 Dur.@.050 | .563-.568 Lift | 114 LSA. This way no resurfacing is required.

let me clear up a few things on the GMPP SCCA LS6 heads, they do sell for $985.00 per head, which is $1970.00 a pair, with NO core charge. That gives you a pair of new LS6 castings, CNC ported and fully assembled by Lingenfelter, ready to bolt on for $1970.00
They do require shorter pushrods, wich are also available through SDPC, due to the decks being milled for higher compression. The compression should come out to right around 11.0:1 on a stock bottom end. I wouldn't be concerned about compression being too high for the street, and I haven't ever heard of anyone needing to run race gas due to installing these heads.
The heads are available through Scoggin-Dickey, here is a link:
http://www.sdpc2000.com
They have been back - ordered for the last month or so, which was totally our fault, but they are in route to SDPC now, so anyone that has heads on order, call them and they can give you a delivery date. If anybody needs to order some, just call any of the guys at Scoggin-Dickey and they can get heads to you right away.

Ditto on the brass alignment pins on the intake, but you don't have to do any further clearancing. The ports line up fine, it is just the brass "nubs" that cause the problem.
