For those of you who have owned/maintained C5's far longer than I have, when the car throws a P0410 code
(secondary air injection), roughly what percentage of the time do you reckon it's actually the air pump
itself? Car is stock (2002 base model) except for aftermarket air intake (has been on for 2 years with no
previous problems) and post-cat exhaust.
99% of the time we never hear back from members who may have had this problem…I guess they just want to be assured that it’s not something like a PCM when they take it to a shop !!…it can be a fuse (50), pump relay (33), the AIR pump, wiring, shutoff valve, solenoid valve, or a vacuum leak…you’d have to do the detective work so you’ll not be changing everything !!…do you hear the pump in the morning when the car is first started ??…it will come on for 20 seconds or so.
