Was under the dash working with the wiring on my 2000 C5, dropped the knee bolster trim panel, and this part dropped out. This was not
related to anything I was working on (ignition wiring).
Anyone know what it is? The one end looks like it is inserted and then twist locked. Car still starts.

It their was another owner he left that in there to confuse the next owner.
Sorry can't help you, and I've been all through the dash (I thought). looks like an air temp sensor but not like the C5 ambient air temp sensor. good luck!
Looks like the temp sensor for the interior auto climate control. That piece locks into the part that snaps in behind the mini vented panel by the key. If you google the sensor and look at different views you will see what I mean.
