Default C5 not starting-Please help

Hey there,
98 C5. I just finished changing the A/C compressor and I did the double din stereo and subwoofers at the same time while waiting for parts. After completion I went to start the car and I got nothing. The dash did the full sweep, but no starter crank. I determined the battery to be weak and got a new battery. When I installed the battery it started, however I dropped something under the battery tray.....Duh, and I had to pull the battery out. When I installed it again same problem. then it is started to say the infamous "Pull Key and wait 10 seconds". I have already done the steering bypass.
So I ordered the LC5 wire bypass and it solved the "Pull Key" problem, but still won't start.
It seem like it would be the battery, but it's new and I verified it's getting power.

Side note: the windows are rolling up and down without the key in all of a sudden.....

Any help is appreciated......

The windows rolling down without the key could be an indication that the BCM is not working correctly. Have you verified that the TDR is being energized everytime the key is turned to the start position. Have you pulled the codes from the DIC it might help pin point the problem.

Can you share the process of getting the codes again?

Not trying to be a smartass here but since this problem just happened after you were wrenching under the hood and dash, first thing I would do is retrace all of my work to make sure nothing was disturbed unintentionally. It happens to all of us a some point. Good luck.

I totally agree. I did go back under the dash and center console and look around. I unfortunately didn't find anything. Also, when I do a stereo, I purposely run my wires directly to the battery rather than splicing any
wires for that reason.
