What's up guys, soo I recently put in a forged ls3 with a blower on my 02 zo6. Drove it about 50 miles or soo and noticed crazy grinding sound when I released the clutch. It didn't sound like my clutch but something else. Soo I took it back to the shop and my pilot bearing was chewed up. Soo they assumed the torque tube needs to be rebuilt. Upon further inspection they are saying the torque tube itself is slightly bent. They took a straight edge and the sides line up but the underside doesn't stay level with the straight edge. Have you guys seen anything like this before or heard of it?

Do you know what causes it, I got the car up in the air but we can't find a torque tube anywhere. I checked with rpm various other places soo we're not sure what else we can do.
Have you taken the driveshaft out of the tube to inspect it? I have no idea what you are describing when you say how they determined the torque tube itself is bent. I've never heard of such a thing and can't imagine how you could BEND a giant aluminum tube that is soft mounted at 3 points and and has hardly any forces on it. Unless you wrecked the car at some point?
Dam …lethal performance makes a one piece and you can get it in carbon fiber rated over 1k HP. A better pilot wouldn’t hurt something hardened steel …also you gotta make sure it’s shimmed correctly…
I typed out a long response and accidentally deleted it.....***
point is, don't buy anything from DSS until yours is apart and you get them to measure what they have in stock.
I have their carbon fiber. Took 2 tries. Before I got the right length.
Also. Solid couplers hold well on high hp. But do have some added vibration
My TT was bent, killed the pilot bearing. I bought a like-new prop shaft from a member here. Also installed a new input (splined) shaft, new bearings and new GM couplers. I had around $1860 in parts spent.
Along with a new twin disc clutch, Elite tunnel plate, master/slave cylinder, bleeder, and full transmission rebuild and upgrade, both axles, both rear hubs, ball joints, I had over $6k in parts.
Lol that's badass, we ended up replacing all bearing and that eliminated quite a bit of movement. Hopefully it holds up,and if not I'll just have to order a torque tube from somewhere before I take it back to the shop.
