I have a 2002 Z06 and wanted to swap out my factory rubber sway bar bushings with some poly bushings. I ordered some 30mm Prothane front poly bushings from Zip Corvette. Zips part # is SU-1127 and they’re advertised specifically for 01-04 Z06’s. Prothane’s part number is 7-1176BL. When I went to swap the bushings, the new poly bushings are larger and do not sit flush in the stock bushing bracket. When bolting the brackets back to the subframe there is over 1/2” of space between the bracket and subframe when they should sit flush. I called Zip and they confirmed this was the correct part. They offered for me to return the bushings, but suggested I contact Prothane to see what they say. I haven’t been able to get through to anyone at Prothane and revived no response to my email inquiry.
I did a search and found an older thread where some members used washers to act as a spacer to take up the slop/space. I just don’t see this as a safe option as you’ll have only a few bolt threads run into the subframe.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or anyone replace their front sway bar bushings with poly and used another manufacturer or part number? Anyone use a bushing that comes with a new bracket? I replaced the rear bushings with Prothane’s 23.6mm poly bushings and had zero issues with that swap.
I am running into the exact same issue. I ordered the Prothane and they are too large.
What did you end up doing? Anyone else have this issue with the Z06 with stock sway bar?

I put the stock rubber ones back in. Everything at that time was back ordered or unavailable.
