I just got my 2002 c5 and the HUD doesn't work. The owner's manual says to check the fuse but it doesn't tell me which one it is nor does the fuse box cover. Any help?
Thanks for the reply. Maybe you'll know something else about the HUD. When I look down on it through the windshield I can see two microswitches and the mirror that I'm guessing has to move into place? It never moves for one and it looks like there may be some debris inside. What's the best way to get into it? Is this a disassemble the whole dash kinda day or is there an easier way?
I just fixed the HUD in my C5 this weekend. The reason why I could never see the HUD since I bought the car a year ago was- a plastic pivoting mechanism that turned the mirror had broken, knocking the mirror out of alignment. Now that I've drilled a screw into the side of the mirror mount, and re-seated the mirror into the HUD assembly, I can now see the HUD in my car for the first time since I bought it.
If you can remove the HUD from your car, try checking the mirror in your C5's HUD. Your HUD may still have power.
These 2 videos helped me diagnose the problem with my HUD and get it working, again.
This video showed a critical step the first video may have left out, documenting the exact position the mirror needs to be placed back into the projector.

https://youtu.be/Q3nhj4abKDEThis is a good video that walks you through removing the dashboard, accessing the HUD, and adding a brass pin or screw to hold up the mirror.

I hope this helps.
Thanks for your reply. I'll let you know how it goes after I'm done. On a side note, what's up with those little add on wheels up under the nose? I get what they are for, but do they really help at all? I would think that if you're putting that much pressure on the wheels going up a driveway then you're going to put a lot of stress on the nose. Something has got to give if this happens often right? lol Mine also has two metal runners down each side on the bottom of the car for a skid bar kinda thing. Do you have this on your ride? Thanks again for you help. Cheers
