Intermediate Shaft Removal
There is a seal piece that ended up on the other side of the grommet. To make a long story short, I need to remove the grommet so that I can install it correctly,I could go back in and remove the column just enough to slide it off. However, it looks like it would be easier to just remove the intermediate shaft from the steering column to remove the grommet and seal. It looks like only two bolts to deal with. There is the bolt at the firewall which I had to deal with to remove the steering column and a bolt toward the steering box. If I have thought this out correctly, I should be able to loosen the bolts, turn the wheels straight, secure the steering wheel, remove the bolts, and slide the intermediate shaft off of the steering column. Could it be that simple or am I missing something? Thanks in advance.
