Default T56 Does not go into gear

2002 LS1/T56 in my '69 restomod.

Car has sat for 5+ years. I just finished a brake o ring conversions so hopefully that'll work from now on.

The trans worked properly when I installed it into the car years ago with a new slave(people told me to change it while it was easy to do).
For years I was able to put the car in gear to move it around the shed with little to no clutch. Once in gear the clutch performed normal and allowed me to drive it.
I installed a remote bleeder and it pumps out just fine(no bubbles). I also did a vacuum bleed to get the master cylinder bled. Still nothing. Won't go into gear when the car is on.
I can push the shifter towards 1st gear and it'll attempt to move the car despite the clutch being all the way pushed.

If I didn't know any better I'd say it was 100% bleed but still not working correctly. Can the slave cylinder bleed normally but not operate correct?
would low fluid cause it not to go in gear? (I don't recall ever seeing puddles under the trans but it's a shed...everything leaks something.)
What part would fail from sitting most likely?

TIA

I have an old Detroit 8v92 12.1L diesel motor I took out of a peterbilt last winter...maybe it'll work better than the LS1.

Default Clutch Bleed

Depending on the angle of the MC it can be almost impossible to get the air out. If you have bled a lot of fluid there may be some tiny bubbles in the system. Try letting it sit for a day and do another reverse bleed. Use as little vacuum as possible and see if you get air out.
As you probably know the next option would be to remove the master cylinder and do a bench bleed. Not fun.

You think there's more likely an issue with the MC than the slave?

Any way to rule out one vs the other? Like is there a way I can see if the slave is functioning from under the car when the clutch is pushed?
Or unhook a hose and see if the MC is functioning like it should?

Put car in neutral and start it. Push clutch in a few times and see how much resistance you have. If there is a lot of slack in the pedal before you feel resistance its likely air in system.
Put car in gear. Push clutch in and start. (may want to block wheels to prevent car moving) If it wont turn over the clutch is still engaged. IF it will start then it should move in gear.
Either way if you see no clutch fluid under the car or dripping form MC you most likely have air in the system.

Well it acts weird.

Car off it'll go in gear...with little to no clutch feel. Almost no resistance in pedal.

I put it in gear(car off) and it started pretty easy but tires spin slowly despite having clutch pushed in. Pull it into neutral and tires no longer spin but can't get it back into gear while car is still on.
