Has anyone found or installed an aftermarket shift cable on an automatic shifter? The OEM cable seems to have a weak joint that fails quite frequently. I have to replace mine. Just curious if there is an upgrade out there.

Nope...sorry bro....just had mine replaced and bought a spare one to boot...because you can bet your azz they are gonna discontinue this part...lol
Not that I have seen. I just replace the bushings when they fail
Where are these bushings located? In the shifter end or cable end near the transmission?
My shifter indicator with 88K miles is not exactly lining up with the actual gear engagement (i.e. feels like shifter goes past DRIVE position to engage the transmission into DRIVE).
Perhaps my bushings are worn and I would like to replace them.
Does anyone have a picture that they could provide?

Thanks in advance!
Located at each end of the cable...one at the transmission and one at the shifter...one or both of yours may be on the way out...the cable is probably brittle also after 23 years subjected to a lot of heat...do yourself a favor and replace the whole cable ASAP,,,the cable itself is very cheap and even the dealer only charges for 1 hour labor...at least mine did and believe me it was well worth it...
