I just purchased a new set of tires and looking carefully at the previous set I just unmounted after 14,000 miles, it is obvious that the front right tire was wearing faster on the outer tread. Left front was similar, but not as bad. Car always tracked straight without touching the steering wheel.
The rear tires I removed look like new - very little wear and every tread groove measure exactly the same tread depth. So my guess is the rear alignment is good?
Last time I had a 4-wheel alignment, but I guess the front was either wrong or did not hold? My question is: Is there anything wrong with getting just a front wheel alignment if the rear seems to be OK?
I would only do a 4 wheel alignment, the rear could be running with the right amount of camber/toe but the center alignment might off causing the front tires to wear incorrectly. For a few dollars more why take a chance. More than likely you hit a bad piece pf payment and the left front move on the alignment bolt, that happened to me when the car was newer and my one front tire changed toe. After a 200 mile road trip I could see I needed a new front tire.
