My EBCM has not worked for a few years now. I know you can remove it and install a proportioning valve. I have done some research and cannot find any good info on how to do it. Has anyone done it and has any good info on how to do it? Any other problems after removing it?
You cannot remove the EBCM and install a proportioning valve because the EBCM itself does not contain any brake fluid circuits.
The BPMV to which the EBCM is attached does contain the brake fluid circuits, but I have never heard of removal and modification. I suppose anything is possible, though.
My EBCM has not worked for years either. The 1214 code was fixed once by ABSfixer, but it came back and also a solenoid code. I just live with it, as it is too expensive to fix and might also need a BPMV.
