HELP!!! I FLOODED THE ENGINE WITH WATER GOING THROUGH A PUDDLE.

Is the starter engaging? With the plugs out you should force out any water if it is engaging you might have bent something inside that is not letting the motor turn over. I would try manually turning the motor over with a socket/breakerbar. Any water in the oil?
Good luck,
Ed

Ziggy,
If your starter is engaging and will not turn the engine over with the plugs removed you probably need to get the car to a repair shop. Water damage caused by picking up water from the road is covered by your comprehensive insurance. However, you will probably need to provide some evidence that you did go through a puddle and the engine quit running.

You might also want to consider removing some of your mods (the Haltech intake for one) that may have helped that water get in there as well before the insurance adjuster looks at the car.

A year ago when I had my MTI bottom feeder on I had about 100 miles on a new H/C package and did the same. At least you don't have rods sticking through the side of the block. I put the old breather on and got the filter wet so don't leave that F bottom feeder on or you will probably get no help from the ins company. I sold the MTI even though I liked it a lot, its rains too damn much and very hard in FL and major streets can get deep quickly. My starter wouldn't turn mine over either, I found that one of the pistons had knocked the starter off. You'd be better off to go to your tuner and let him prepare for the ins company. Good Luck I certainly feel for you, been there. I had a friend during the same storm in a jag that bent every valve in his heads.

You probably have a bent rod pressing up against the block. You can check that by putting a wratchet on the crank bolt and turng the motor a touch backwards and seeing it will turn forward the same distance, then lock up. Although it quit and you drained the cylinders, it's not too hard to bend a rod.

I agree what they said of returning to stock ASAP. They can deny you warranty work since it can be blamed on the Halltech TRIC which sucked up water. I suggest that you buy or at least borrow a stock intake from a friend closeby. I kept mine for the same reason, if ever I need to put it back to stock i have it in the garage.
Re: HELP!!! I FLOODED THE ENGINE WITH WATER GOING THROUGH A PUDDLE. (ziggy77)
I have ran across this before, a friend of mine years ago had a 69 camaro. after a nite of heavy ran, water leaked down the hood into his carb. this filling some cylinders with water. the next morning he tried to start his car, thinking the battery was dead he proceeded to roll the car down the hill and pop the clutch, this bending 2 rods in the process. the moral of the story is water doesn't compress and it WILL hurt engine parts in a hurry.
just a little story, sorry to hear it happened, and good luck on getting the insurance to cover it

well so far i took all the plugs out and water is in the intake manifold with what looks like alot of oil mixed in. water leaked out of the back driver side cylinder but that had no oil in it. i can't turn the crank over with a wrech so it looks pretty bad. i guess i'm going the insurance way. how much do youu guys think i'll get from the insurance company for this.
