How to disconnect starter switch wire connectors

How to disconnect starter switch wire connectors
An easy action EXCEPT for a ham-handed guy like me. I need step by step for a doofus. I have broken more plastic tabs than I can count.
How do I disconnect the wire harnesses and rear cable from the starter switch. Several posts said "carefully". Do I insert a small screwdriver in side of switch to release tang and use pliars to pull down colored tabs on connectors to release them? And is the cable in the rear of switch just a pull-out? Thanks much for any help.

Are you referring to the ignition switch ??…never heard it referred to as the “starter switch”…if you are talking about the ignition switch and you are trying to change it watch the video !!

Thanks a ton for the video link. That's exactly what I needed
. (Yeah, I meant the ignition switch.). I looked at lots of videos, but hadn't found that one. It answers lots of questions and I was on the wrong track re connectors. Also going to get an LED work light so this 73 yr old can see to work without frying body parts.
