1998 Corvette C5 ABS Module
Hello Everyone
I'm new to this forum so forgive me if I'm not easy to understand.
Originaly from the UK, now in Dubai UAE.
I recently bought a 1998 C5. The deal was that the previous owner would buy and replace the faulty ABS module.
This has not proved easy, so I'm taking the matter into my own hands.
Simply put, where can I get the module to buy or be repaired ?
Alternatively is the module shared by any other GM model that I can try to find here in the UAE ???
Any assistance would be very appresiated.

Since you have a 1998 there are two possible mounting locations for your module. Is the module located at the rear of the car or under the hood?
There are 2 different modules built for that year. Non active handling and active handling units. They are designated with a M or a V on the top of the module. The M is non active handling and V is the active handling unit. In order to know which one you need you would have to look and post up which model you have ( M or V ).
As for other units, there are other units from other cars that look the same but the internal programming is different. So you would need a ebcm from a corvette.

Just a note, all of the rear mount EBCMs do not have active handling. The cars with the front mount have the option of having active handling.
If a rear mount, you could use one from a 1997 or early run 1998. If a front mount it could come from a late run 1998 to 2000 depending on if it is active handling or just traction control.
Then there is what codes are in the system for the EBCM? Some of the codes are for components external to the EBCM.

I am learning as I go along :-)
As with the other great message I was sent, I'm passing all of this to the workshop working on my car.
As you can imagine there are very few older Corvettes here in the UAE. Knowledge and parts are very rare.

Hello Gents
Information from the workshop working on my car.
They say the module is rear mounted and the harness was burnt by the exhaust.
The fault is no communication from the module.
What do you suggest I do next?
Do I have any chance of getting a used or repairing the module / harness ?
