Default 2004 C5 Suspension recommendations

Hey guys,
I have 04 Coupe (factory wheels). I am looking to upgrade/improve the shocks and sway bars (no polyurethane bushings). I am looking at C6 Z51 equivalent sway bars and either c6 Z06 shocks or Bilstein shocks. I don't autocross, but drive pretty aggressively around town when I can. Just want to tighten everything up.

Sway Bars - Hotchkis Sport 2285 front (31mm) and rear (25mm) Can't go bigger on stock wheels and tires, due to oversteer
Shocks - C6 Z06 or Bilstein for the Z51

I am not lowering the car and don't want to spend a fortune on the new setup. $1000-$1500. Any suggestions?

TPS Motorsports (Corvette Forum Vendor), HD Steinjaeger Sway Bars US Made Hollow 31mm front & 28 mm rear (3 way adjustable) along with
metal end links $400.00 pretty tuff to beat bang for the buck imo. They have packages with C6 Z06 shocks as well as Bilsteins separately.

I have these bars with the non -lowered Bilstein B6s if I rermember correctly as replacements on my 07 C6 that had the base suspension
and it is a great combo on the street with out being to harsh.

This is what I did for the set-up on my 04 stick vert. Street and no tracking in the selection of parts. Keep in mind that suspension geometry/ratios must be kept relatively proportionate to spec in order to prevent understeer/oversteer concerns.

I assembled the following for my car and it handles extremely well for a Vert:
C6 Z51 front spring
C5 Z51 rear spring
C5 Z06 front sway bar
C6 Z51 rear sway bar
Poly bushings
Metal end links (if not already equipped)

I sourced the springs, and sways used. The end links were new.

Yellow95, how do you like the ride of Z06 shocks? My baby brother is talking me into stock shocks. May do shocks w/o sway bars. 117K with original shocks.

If you are going to run 275/35x18 front tires or smaller the stock Z or 2000+ Z51 rear bar works best, With 285or larger fronts then a larger rear bar might be needed. For all around driving the C6Z shock are good but more than like raise the ride height slightly since they are valved for the heavier LS7 engine and C6 body. Bilstein shocks will help the car sit slightly lower than stock but a firmer ride.
