I've replaced the ECU in my 2002 Corvette Z06 and I need to run the CPK relearn routine. I have a Foxwell NT510 Elite scan tool to run the procedure. When I attempt to run the routine, the scan tool typically freezes forever at a "loading data" screen. I've attempted the procedure maybe two dozen times and only once did it get by the loading data screen to attempt to run the procedure and failed. I've followed the preparatory instructions exactly (engine is at temp, wheels blocked, parking brake on, AC off, etc.) I'm curious if anyone else has come across this problem and has any suggestions to complete the procedure. Alternatively, I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a scan tool that they've used successfully (e.g., GM TECH2) Thanks.

I've used my Tech 2, Snap On Verus Pro, and Autel MS906 to perform this procedure on all different model cars...are you KEEPING your left foot on the brake while accelerating to fuel cut off with your right foot ??

On most attempts, I don’t even get to that point of the procedure. The scanner says that it can’t communicate or hangs at the loading data screen. The one time that I did get to the point where it asked me to accelerate to WOT, I did not continue to hold the brake pedal. The instructions on the scanner aren’t really clear on that point, so thanks for the recommendation.
If you can't communicate with any module on start up you may have a serial data bus issue !!
The strange thing is that it communicates with other modules to even get into the "special function" feature for the PCM. It connects, scans the VIN, opens the PCM module. It's only when it's trying to run the CPS learn feature that it complains about lost communication. I'm thinking of trying another scanner/cable to validate whether it's the scanner or the car itself.

Thanks for your recommendation. I was able to successfully run the procedure by holding down the brake with my left foot while accelerating to WOT, an awkward procedure with a manual car.
