Default I need some help with my fuel?

I have a 2001 auto and it runs rich. What can I do to drop it a little? I think the fuel pressure regulator is in the tank.
Thanks
Marty

the fuel pressure is not the problem. You will need to run traces on the car and make changes to your computer program.

How can I do this? Will it void my warranty?

It would be best to get together with someone in your area who already has the scanning software (auto tap or Ease) so they can run traces on your car to see exactly what it is doing. Once the traces have been run and looked at... using either an LS1 edit program or possibly a MAF translator you may be able to dial in the computer.

By looking at your mods, I am not sure if you are running rich or lean. That Vararam is bringing in more air not fuel. That leads me to believe it may be lean instead of rich. The only way to know for sure is to hookup a laptop with the above software program and monitor what is happening. You may want to finish your engine mods that will affect this condition first before doing a final tune. Otherwise you will be tuning the car again if you do anything else that will effect the airflow, fuel or spark.

I have to agree on this theory ... as this is exactly what my problem was and in running the Ease program I found I was running 25% lean at idle. This being the case one possible solution to too much air is larger injectors (30#).

You can get these at http://www.thefordsource.com

Keep in mind that the more air you blow in the more fuel you will need to make the HP. I adjusted the PCM with the LS1 Edit program and it did wonders. BTW I had a guy that was very well versed in this area do the Ease program and also adjust the PCM with the LS1 Edit.

Good luck and Happy Holidays

4deatr,

It's also posible you are running both rich and lean. When I installed my Blackwing, larger MAF and LS6 intake, I was running rich at part throttle and lean at WOT.

Anyway, checking your car with Autotap or Ease software on a Dyno will let you know where you stand.
