Hello can someone help me with these codes I pulled. I am not familiar with them.
Chevrolet ABS
C1278 - TCS Temporarily Inhibited by PCM
U1000 - Class 2 Data Link Malfunction
Chevrolet SRS
B0091 - Active Switch: Wrong State
U1000 - Class 2 Data Link Malfunction
U1016 - Lost Communication with Powertrain Control Module
U1040 - Lost Communication with Electronic Control Module
U1096 - Lost Communication with Instrument Cluster
U1064 - Lost Communication with Body Control Module
The 4 modules...PCM, EBCM, IPC, and BCM are powered either through the battery or ignition switch...these U codes are "communication" DTC's so some modules can't "talk" to others...all 4 of those modules are powered by 1 of 4 wires through that ignition switch so you MAY have a bad ignition switch but without testing I can't guarantee that...how old is your battery ??...that should be the first thing tested...don't worry about the B0091 or C1278 for now.
I wouldn’t go by “he told me he changed it”…you can erase the codes and see if they come back…I’d ensure the battery is at least 12.66 volts to make sure it is fully charged.
