I’ve been trying to get my car to start for about 2 months now. All the dash lights come on but when I turn the key it doesn’t even try to start. Only code I get is the p1631. I’ve replaced the switch, starter, theft deterant relay, and several fuses. I even tried to bypass the vats with a resister. I have a used tumbler coming with a matching key but that’s the last thing I can think of. Anybody got any other suggestions? And how can I program a key? Will it half to go to the dealer? Thanks I’m advance.
Not knowing your knowledge of electronics as it pertains to your car, I will still offer you advice. Have someone turn the key to start the car while you position yourself in the passenger footwell area and listen for the click when the TDR is energized. If your TDR is not being energized then you will have to measure for 12v from ground to the yellow wire at the TDR socket, the other measurement is to find a 12v source from the fusebox and with the other meter lead to the yellow black strip wire at the TDR socket and verify 12v. Have you ruled out the Park safety switch if an auto, or clutch depressed safety switch if standard?

I have minimal electrical knowledge but I rule out the clutch safety switch. I’ll see if I can get my neighbor to come by and help me test the Tdr. Thanks for your reply
Great news that you got your problem resolved, I should have asked you what your security light was doing, obviously the TDR was not being energized because the BCM was not providing a ground.
