Windshield wiper fluid and horn not working after console removed
Just had some work done to my car - '99 C5 Coupe. The center console was removed. Now the horn and wind shield wiper fluid do not work. The wipers and cruise control are working fine. Seeing that both controls are in the steering wheel / column, might there be a connection that was left unplugged? I checked the fuses and they are all good.
thanks

There are no electrical connections related to the fluid or horn in the center console…what work was done to the car that the center console was removed ??

There are 2 splice packs behind each headlight bucket G101- left side and G102- right side…as you can see there are multiple wires that come into each splice pack..if it’s just the horn and fluid pump I would remove the “comb” from each splice pack and clean that splice pack…if all circuits listed are inop the splice pack nut may be loose or ground dirty…does the horn sound with the key FOB “panic button” ??…if it does not the “load” side of the horn is faulty which the ground is involved in the operation..if the horn works it’s the control side of the horn circuit that is faulty and not involved with the engine/trans work and will require further diagnosis…you can swap the horn relay with another 4 bladed one like the fuel pump for instance and see if the horn works..also check mini fuse 11 in the underhood fuse box.

Took out the driver side plug..It was dry and clean...But I broke the stud. I assume I will just drill a new hole and use a self tapping bolt to secure the connection down.

A self tapping screw will work fine…I would remove the reservoir and the pump is tucked in behind it…the pink wire is pump power so I would actuate the pump from the stalk and see if you have 12 volts to that wire…it may not be plugged in…to test the black ground wire connect a 12 volt test light to power either at the alternator B+ or battery…when you touch the tip of the test light to the black wire terminal pin the light will light if the ground is good.
