Valve covers
Are the valve covers off a 799 head the same as a 317 head ? Swapping out heads but they didn’t come with valve covers. I’ve had conflicting answers so it’s time to ask the experts! Thanks in advance, Mike.

I don't know from direct experience.
That said, looking top-down on images of either head online lead me to think that basically any center bolt LS valve cover should be interchangeable.
I'm not aware of needing a different cover until or unless you opt for aftermarket valvetrain which requires greater clearance.
