Default Grounds

Guys
Gremlins attacked a few weeks ago go the reduced engine power and all the display went crazy. Checked battery cables all was good, thought maybe I should check all the grounds. Can someone advise where they all are? Or point me in the right direction also have the dreaded service active handling etc. but car has no issues, please give advise on that as well if you have any

Clean the grounds (see link above), and coat in dielectric grease. I know you tested the battery cables, but you might need a new battery. The Vette is very sensitive to small drops in power. What year is your car? That is going to have a big effect on the service active handling issue. Regardless of year, I would start by pulling the codes. You can post them here to find out what they mean. Hopefully the issue isn't your EBCM. However, if it is, you might have a BIG problem. The newer C5s have an EBCM that can be repaired. There are also still replacements still available if you want to go that route. Unfortunately the EBCM in the older C5s can't be fixed, and they are no longer being sold either. Your choices are to ignore the issue or buy a used module. The used EBCMs are VERY expensive, and there is no guarantee that they won't fail soon as well. Good luck!

FIRST thing you want to do is check for any DTC’s (trouble codes) which can be accessed through the DIC…what did you mean by “all the displays went crazy” ???…may be a serial data bus issue but without codes you’re only guessing…no need to clean ALL the grounds…narrow it down to what may be the issue then you can clean the appropriate grounds…with a data bus issue you will have “U” codes which are communication codes !!
