Default Getting Louder

I have a 99 Vette that is stock except for Super Chips and the intake cover from a 2002.My exhaust (ghl)has become really loud.Has anybody had this experience with GHL's?I was planning to install a cam and headers, but now I don't know. They sound great but really loud and headers will break the windows in my apt. complex.I don't know if my exhaust is the excption or this is normal.I also have a Magnaflow X-pipe installed also. :chevy :chevy :flag :flag :chevy :chevy

A friend of mine had a 'problem' with his exhaust in that it reached a level he was not confortable with. He added a set of these in a straight section of the exhaust pipes and it quited it down dramically:

You can buy them from http://www.jegs.com or http://www.summitracing.com. They are welded into the exhaust pipe. Normally they are used for open header applications to met NHRA rules. When my friend installed them in his car, they really did not change the sound characteristics of the exhaust, just made it quiter :)
