Default Thinkin about picking up this intake...

Found this on the LAPD site...

2002 GM Z06 Airbox Lid, C5/Z06 K&N Replacement Box Filter and K&N Recharger Filter Cleaner Kit

I was going to cut the stock box but would like to keep it cool for warrenty in case I need to have the car serviced. So I was thinkin about picking this up and modifying it a bit as well... The kit goes for $109 is that pretty good or what. Ebay cant beat it lol...

If you're going to cut it anyways, why not buy a reg. lid for like $20 and cut that instead? Better still, I read a post where a guy bought a k&N and then zip tied it to the base of the factory airbox (no lid)!!! Looked like a good idea to me, just be sure to purchase a hood seal too.

Where can u get the stock airbox that cheap? Sounds cool to me...

However with the other setup you get the K&N filter as well which I have seen for about $60...

Got mine from a fellow Forum member. :) Try posting a "WTB" topic in the parts section here. Or go on over to Ebay, there's always stuff there to bid on. Just don't get all caught up in a bidding war. HAVE FUN!!!

Hey Dads01Dream. About that third brake light flasher. I followed a Buick or Caddy or something like that down a 25mph hill the other day (2 miles). I still have deeply rooted psychological problems after watching that brake light flashing at me  .   ;)

 :D Well, lemme just say I know FIRST HAND that this little gizmo has saved the backend of my Vette at least one time. :yesnod: I set mine to flash at a different rate than the turn signals and only for about 25 times, then it goes solid. Safety first!

As for your "psychological problems"..... take two aspirins and drive your Vette in the morning. hahahaaa :steering:

Why don't you just buy a black wing filter and leave your stock box alone. When you take it to the dealer...just put your stock intake back on. It takes about 5 minutes tops.

Cause the Black Wing costs $250... With a modified air box I believe you can gain just as much power and save a ton of cash for other stuff. thanks for the idea though
