Default 2003 Z06 Valve Spring Question

I assumed I would have yellow valve springs. I bought new valve springs to replace them and started on the job.
I removed the passenger side valve cover and found natural color springs, not yellow.

Does this mean the springs were already replaced? I don't want to go through all this to replace springs if it's not necessary. The car only has 23,000 miles on it.

No one? Really want to be comfortable leaving in the springs that are there instead of replacing them. Really confused they weren't yellow when I was took off valve cover.

I had the same thing on my 34K mile '03 Z. The VIN was just outside the timeframe for the known bad springs, but I wanted to change them anyway since I track the car. I am the 4th owner and I knew the previous 2 owners, and know they did not change them. The first owner was GM so there is a chance they changed them but I also saw some posts where bare springs could have come from the factory.

Honestly, your this far into it already and it doesnt take long at all to change the springs. I would do it for peace of mind.

This is a picture of 2 of the springs I removed (right) and the new PAC 1218 spring on the left in comparison.

Thanks, some good advice. Maybe I'll go ahead and do it anyway. Appreciate the response.

If there's no paint stripe, they are probably aftermarket. You might as well swap them if you were already prepared to do it.

question, most people talk about a painted yellow stripe. My springs are all yellow. I assume I need to replace them?
